Prime Advantage takes Marine & Towage Services to the International Stage

Prime Advantage Advisory has taken its marine sector Client, Marine & Towage Services Group Ltd to International waters with its sale to Bhagwan Marine of Australia.

Marine & Towage Services Ltd (MTS), based in Falmouth and Brixham in the South West of England, started working with Prime Advantage in November 2012 with a brief to increase the value of the business to enable it to pursue its growth strategy.

During the first 3-4 months Prime Advantage introduced its unique Foundation Programme, a complete review covering every aspect and setting out the goals ambitions and milestones to enable the business to drive growth and profitability.

Over the next 12 months and using techniques gained through many years’ experience of growing and selling businesses, Brian formed an excellent working relationship with Jon Parslow, enabling the owner to continue to run the business on a day to day basis, but with confidence that the right procedures, processes, structures and reporting mechanisms were being put in place in order to maximise profit.

The growth strategy that was adopted led MTS to seek additional funding and potentially an investor and the final stage of the process saw Prime Advantage orchestrating the process, finding the right Corporate Finance Partner and working with the Company’s existing Solicitors and Accountants, to bring the business to market.

MTS completed on its sale to Bhagwan Marine, a leading Work Boat business in Australia in August 2014. Bhagwan Marine was looking to expand internationally and the fit with MTS was perfect.
